Dr. Milton Almeida, MALT, DSocSci, CACE
For the past 25 years, Milton has helped individuals and organizations come to grips with a transforming world. His expertise lies in taking dysfunctional, non-performing groups of people and turning them into creative, productive, and effective teams. In his years of international hotel experience, his career took him across Canada and into Europe where he held senior positions with Hilton International and Sheraton as well as independent hotels. During his extensive leadership and management experience, Milton led many highly effective teams ranging from 10 to 250 people. His contribution to the business community was recognized by the Alberta Hotel Association with the Gold Key Award.
Driven by his passion to create better workplaces and better leaders, Milton left a successful career in hospitality to open his boutique consulting firm on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. Corporate Edge Coaching focuses on the creation and delivery of solutions in the areas of leader and leadership development, strategic planning, and organizational change and performance. His scholar-practitioner approach to organizational development provides clients with evidence-based solutions that integrate sound research and practical applications. He works with clients in a variety of industries that include health care, post-secondary education, and hospitality.
Milton’s business experience is complemented by a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training and a Doctor of Social Sciences. His doctoral work explored the role of leadership in creating more sustainable and innovative organizations. His research interests include leader and leadership development, regenerative tourism, change management, and strategic planning. He is certified in tools such as LEAN, ProSci, The Leadership Challenge, and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Milton has spoken to many groups and has a vibrant, humorous, and interactive presentation style that supports individual learning and exploration.
Carol Sachowski, CHRP, CEC
Carol has a 15+ year reputation as an expert HR professional and Certified Executive Coach. That expertise, combined with her desire to help people do more than they ever dreamed possible – translates perfectly into Carol’s current focus as a dynamic and engaging coach, mentor advisor and author.
Carol is founder of couhrage™ and storycoaching™ Inc. She is a volunteer member of the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care HR Committee in Toronto, a regular speaker of the International Customer Service Association – Toronto Chapter, member of the International Coaching Federation and of the British Columbia Human Resource Management Association, where she is a regular contributor to its PeopleTalk magazine.
Carol has worked with clients in Canada, the USA, Brazil and the Caribbean.
